All Saints Church Open House!

All Saints Church Open House!

Sutton Music Trust is proud to build and maintain partnerships with the local community. On Sunday, 10th September, eight of our young musicians performed solo programmes as part of the Open House event held at All Saints Church, Carshalton.

Braving the heat, our young musicians – accompanied by Sutton Music Trust tutor Phil Aslangul – performed solo pieces to an appreciative audience. These performances were part of the All Saints Church Open House event. The church is one of the buildings of special interest which opens its doors to the public as part of Open House London each year.

Marion Williams – Parish Administrator – explains more about the event:

“It is an opportunity to access spaces not normally open to the public but - for us in particular - to showcase our building to new people for them to understand what made it, and continues to make it, a hub of Parish Life. One of those things is our acoustics, which is why we not only did historian-led formal tours but also invited some of the musicians who play here on a regular basis."

“The students gave stunning performances of complex and varied pieces. Many people asked who they were and what school they came from, so it was the perfect opportunity to tell everyone about the work of Sutton Music Trust, who nurture and develop these musical skills across the borough in young people of all ages and levels. Talent to look out for in local concerts!."

Sutton Music Trust would like to commend and thank the following students for giving up their time to support and maintain positive links with our community partners:

Joshua D – Saxophone

Isabelle T – Violin

Aree D – Piano
