Sutton Sings ‘Incredible You’

Sutton Sings ‘Incredible You’

Sutton Music Trust loves what we do and believes the experience of working, playing, and listening together is hugely beneficial and rewarding for all. Through our KS2 Big Sing, we aim to bring together young singers from across Sutton to sing together and celebrate music in all forms.

On the 11th and 12th June, Sutton Music Trust welcomed 453 Key Stage 2 singers from 15 Sutton primary schools to perform in our Sutton Sings ‘Incredible You’ concerts at St. Andrew’s Church, Cheam. The choirs presented a varied programme of songs promoting self-esteem and confidence. Each school choir chose two solo songs linked to our theme as well as performing four massed choir songs featuring actions and harmony singing, including ‘Kis nay banaayaa’ (Sing Up) and ‘Me’ (Friday Afternoons).

This year, we were delighted to be able to include children from the Oak Centre (The Royal Marsden) in our KS2 Big Sing. Supported by staff, Bella and Ellie created an uplifting recording of ‘Power in Me’ which we played during our concerts. Bella and Ellie received enthusiastic applause from our audience, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with the Oak Centre in the future.

Our Big Sings are a key strand of our singing strategy. Here are some of the benefits of participating in one of our Big Sings:

What a fantastic celebration of the power of singing! All of the LEO schools involved thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity of coming together to sing with other children from the borough. Thank you Sutton Music Trust for organising this wonderful event

The choirs did an absolutely fantastic job and were rewarded with standing ovations from our enthusiastic audiences! Sutton Music Trust was incredibly impressed by the standard of singing and would love to welcome the young singers who participated in our KS2 Big Sing to join our borough choirs. Our Big Sings continue to grow each year and we look forward to our Big Sings 2025!
