As part of the ambitions set out in the National Plan for Music Education and the requirements of the Music Hub programme, Sutton Music Trust has appointed four Lead Schools. These have been appointed as part of the wider network of the London Southwest Music Hub area (consisting of Croydon, Hounslow, Kingston, Merton, Richmond, and Wandsworth music services).
What is a Lead School?
Lead Schools are schools with a demonstrable commitment to high-quality and inclusive music provision, that are willing to ‘take a lead’ in supporting co-curricular music development across the Hub, particularly within their own Local Authority area.
This may include supporting with sharing of planning and resources, coordinating or hosting network meetings, advising and supporting SMT in planning of CPD priorities or modeling best practice to peers. Lead Schools will benefit from enhanced partnership working with SMT and the wider hub network.
