Our specialist instrumental music teachers teach a variety of orchestral instruments. Scroll to the bottom of the page to see the recommended ages for starting instrumental lessons. We also provide group music theory and aural lessons catering to students of all ages, as well as composition lessons.
We aim to provide as many children as possible with a high quality and enjoyable musical experience.

Academy Ensembles
In addition to our large ensemble opportunities, we run smaller ensembles and a choir at Music Academy to help students develop their musicianship and performance skills.

Age advice
Some instruments are more suitable for older children. Our recommendation for when students may wish to start learning is:
Violin/Viola – Year 1 or 2
Cello – Year 2 or 3
Double Bass/Mini Bass – Year 4
Flute – Year 4
Clarinet – Year 5
Saxophone – Year 5 or 6
Oboe – Year 6
